Lidia Waddell passed peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11th, 2020, at Miller’s Merry Manor at the age of 94.
She was born in Loraine, Texas to Santos and Adela Acosta. Lidia lived in Dallas, Texas for several years before moving to Anderson, Indiana in the early 1950s. She was preceded in death by her husband, Blane Waddell, and by her siblings Conrrado Acosta, Esperanza Holgiun, and Jose Acosta. Lidia left behind three children from her previous marriage, Ruben Garcia (Toni Marie), Yolanda Strickland (Rodney Zimmerman) and Bob Garcia Jr (Cindy).
She has eight grandchildren, Aaron Garcia, Andrew Garcia, Alicia Knowles, Caleb Strickland, Jon Strickland, Adam Garcia, Angela Garcia-Miller and Allison Raglin. She also has six great-grandchildren, Cora Garcia, Drew Garcia, Adelaide Strickland, Gabriel Garcia, Aubrey Raglin and Garrett Raglin.
Additionally, Lidia is survived by her niece Blanca Crutcher and daughter-in-law, Nancy Garcia. Lidia always loved the outdoors. She enjoyed tending her flowers and vegetable garden, drives in the country and watching the boats on the lake. Lidia will be remembered for her love of rummage sales, good food, and her special way of saying things. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Miller’s Merry Manor in Middletown for their care and kindness throughout Lidia’s tenure there.
