passed away November 12, 2008 at Rivercrest Hospital in Mishawaka, IN. Sparky came to Indiana from Kentucky in 1953 and lived in Rensselaer until 12 years ago when he moved to Parkview Rest Home in Winamac. For 30 years he was the owner and operator of the Rensselaer Taxi. He had also worked at Babcock Stone Quarry and Gehring Farms.
He was born May 14, 1935 in Vest, Kentucky, the son of Willie Sparkman and Maggie (Shepherd) Combs. He was raised in Kentucky and attended school there.
Survivors include one brother, Denver Combs, Poller, GA, two sisters, Mavis Campbell, McConnersville, OH and Louise Heise, Knox, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Finley Handshoe.
