Mr. Lewis Pete Rucker, a loving Father and loving Grandfather of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away May 21, 2020. Mr. Rucker was 92 years old. He was born in Athens, Alabama, on September 16, 1927.
Mr. Rucker was preceded in death by his only son, Lewis Steven Rucker. He is survived by his loving grandson, Ethan Rucker, and his loving daughter, Patricia Rucker.
Mr. Rucker enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his friends and family. Throughout
Mr. Rucker’s life he has supported many organizations.
Some of the organizations he has supported are “Veterans of Foreign Wars”, “Help Hospitalized Veterans”,“Paralyzed Veterans of America”, “Disabled American Veterans”, “Madison Academy”, “St. Joseph’s Indian School”, “Boys Town”, “National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund”, and “The Boys and Girls Ranch of Alabama”, plus many others. Mr. Lewis Rucker, also, is a WWII Honor Roll Member and is listed in the “United States National World War II Museum,” in New Orleans.
Mr. Lewis Rucker was a Retired, United States Veteran.
Mr. Rucker served in three wars, World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War. Mr. Rucker began his United States Military Service when he was 18 years old and retired when he was 39 years old. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1951 and continued his Military Service with the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1966. After Mr. Rucker’s retirement he continued to work with his family’s business and enjoyed helping others.
