Lewis “Lew” Ray Dodson, 74, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born August 16, 1944 in Centralia, son of Walter Lewis Dodson and Dorothy (Jones) Dodson. He married Peg Wienewski on November 16, 2001 and she preceded him in death on the same day.

He was survived by his children: son, Gregory Lewis Dodson and wife Shelley of Centralia, a step-son, Curt Ernest Hagegeorge of Alaska, a son, Lewis Edward Dodson and Angie of Centralia, and a daughter, Tamber Lynn Lusch and Jerry of Tonti; five grandchildren: Adam Durham, Connor Dodson, Lewis Edward Dodson II, Cooper Dodson, and Kaytlyn Dodson; three great-grandchildren: Peyton Durham, Harper Lynae Durham and Tyrion Durham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a son: Lawrence Robert Dodson. Lew served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

While stationed at Camp Pendleton in California, he attended St. Patrick Catholic Parish. Lew served as Sergeant with the Central City Police Department for 10 years. He was an avid golf fan. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and competitive shooting. He was a member of the Centralia Moose Lodge 1219, Centralia Elks Lodge 493, and Centralia American Legion Post 446.
