Mr. Lampkin was born on April 15, 1925 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Lewis Lampkin Sr. and Megellan Olivia Haryway Lampkin. He departed this life on May 18, 2013 at his residence in Hartselle.
Mr. Lampkin was a production worker for Baker’s Industry in Hartselle and retired with 27 years of service. He was a very humble and good spirited person but yet he was outspoken and straightforward.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Eunice Floree Sharpley; one son, John Doyle Lampkin; seven brothers, H.W., W.H., Ellis, Daniel Webster, George, Perry and Hilton Lampkin; two sisters, Brenda L. Orr and Caroline L. Orr.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, James Edward (Trula) Lampkin, Paul Hayward Lampkin all of Decatur, William Thomas (Marcie) Lampkin of Hartselle; two daughters, Sharion L. (Duane) Hunter of Marietta, Georgia and Carolyn Muhammad Lampkin of Hartselle; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Christine L. Allen of Hartselle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
