Lewis Jackson Pate, age 74, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at his home in Sharpsburg surrounded by family. He was born in Lumbpkin, GA on March 30, 1942 to the late James Jackson Pate and Melba Frazier Pate. Along with his parents Lewis is preceded in death by his son, Bobby Pate and brother, Billy Pate. Lewis is survived by his loving wife, of 54 wonderful years, Carolyn Cook Pate and his son Charles Pate and his wife Tammy. He is also survived by his grandchild Lauryn Pate; brothers, Robert (Nita) Pate, Ray Pate; sisters, Bonnie Pate and Marie Bishop. At a young age Lewis knew the importance of hard work. He could always be found helping others in need. His entire career was spent at Southern Mills. He was a loving husband, caring father, great brother and a dear friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
