Lewis Emory Ware, age 93, of Gladstone, passed away Thursday afternoon, July 27, 2017, at Christian Park Health Care Facility in Escanaba.

Lewis was born, in Porter Twp. MI, on August 4, 1923, the son of Lester and Eva (Parker) Ware. He was raised in Colon, MI where he also attended school. On November 25, 1942, Lewis enlisted in the United States Navy. Throughout his enlistments, he received medals of commendation which included the American Area Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. Lewis was united in marriage to the former Shirley E. DeLano on September 17, 1943. He was honorably discharged on December 6, 1945. Lewis and Shirley made their home and raised their family in Battle Creek. Shirley preceded Lewis in death on February 10, 2017. Lewis was employed, as a time study engineer, for United Steel and Wire Company for 38 years. He was an avid fisherman his entire life and will be deeply missed.

Son: Jeff (Jenny) Ware of Rapid River, MI
Daughter: Vivian Ayers of Escanaba, MI
Grandchildren: Mike and Amy
Also surviving are 3 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins

In addition to his parents, Lester and Eva, his loving wife Shirley, and his brothers and sisters, Lewis was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Ware.
