Leta C. Wardell (Nee: Harris) formerly of Willingboro and Florida passed away on Thursday in Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice at Virtua Hospital in Mt. Holly at the age of 84. Leta worked in the Willingboro School District as a Librarian until her retirement in 1981.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She loved her family, loved animals, belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, and when she found time she enjoyed crocheting. She was very fond of her cat Gidget as her family and friends will tell you.
She is survived by her children: Michael (Lorrie) Wardell, Susan McKenzie, John Wardell; former daughter-in-law Barbara O’Mullane (Tom); grandchildren: Lauren Mirabelli (Ben)Sarah McKenzie, Douglas Wardell (Carla), Christopher O’Mullane (Liz); a great-grandson: Robert Wardell, a brother Philip Harris and her honorary granddaughter: Mandy Kate Dickerson. Also, her family and friends of her former Willingboro neighborhood seemed as if it was one big family.
She was predeceased by her brothers Edward and Herbert Harris.
