Lester Snider, 98, passed away April 19, 2017 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was born on April 11, 1919 in May City, Iowa.
He was a member of the Greatest Generation and served in the Navy during World War II. He owned and operated a service station for several years in Hartley and then in Clearwater, Florida. He was an ace mechanic until the advent of electronics when he just threw in the wrench. He then sold real estate until he retired and moved back to Iowa to be near lots of family. They have lived the past 30 years in Spirit Lake where Dad enjoyed playing golf with his sons-in-law and grandson, Joey.
He is survived by his wife of seventy-five years, Dorothy, three daughters, Sue Townsend (Roy) of Urbandale, Iowa, Connie Jackson (Jim) of West Lake Okoboji, Iowa, and Kristie Peck (Jim) of La Luz, New Mexico along with 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and brother Paul Snider of Kansas City, MO.
