Lester Duane Devor, 81 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Saint Louis University Hospital.

He was born June 24, 1936 in Raccoon Township, son of Rolland Harley Devor, Sr. and Mildred Dail (Crocker) Devor. He married Margaret Ball on June 14, 1959 and they later divorced. He married Rose (Gibbons) Davis on November 24, 2000 in Centralia and she survives.

In addition to his wife of 16 years, he is also survived by a son, Michael Don Devor and wife Cindy of Centralia; two step children: Mike Davis of Carbondale and Trudie Meeks of Warrenville; seven grandchildren: Shawn Devor and wife Melissa of Mt. Vernon, Michael Devor and wife Cheryl of Waltonville, Ann Marie Johnston and husband Steve of Salem, Amanda Bishop and husband Josh of Salem, Jason Hunter and wife Ann of Centralia, Cacia Meeks of Maryland, and Moriah Meeks of Warrenville; 16 great grandchildren; a brother: Robert Devor and wife Vikki of Indiana; two sisters: Esther Devor of Centralia and Dolores Devor of Odin; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, a brother: Rev. Rolland Devor, Jr. and a sister, Myra Hain.

Mr. Devor worked at the Brown Shoe Company in Salem, Hollywood Candy Factory for 28 years as a machine operator, LePaul Gas Station for several years, and retired in 1998. He was a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Centralia. He enjoyed gardening and going to Auctions. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.
