Leslie “Les” Coleman Haworth was born November 24, 1941 to Jesse and Mary Ella (Skidmore) Haworth in Wardville, Atoka County, Oklahoma.
Les stepped out of his failing body into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 4:50 pm on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the age of 79.
Les is survived by his wife, Barbara “Bobbi” Jean Haworth. Les and Bobbi were married December 18, 1992 in Oklahoma. They lived for many years in the Winslow and West Fork, Arkansas areas until Les suffered a stroke Memorial Weekend of 2012. They moved to the Omaha, Arkansas area to be near their step-daughter, Phyllis Miller and her husband Robert.
Les is also survived by his sons, Derek Haworth and Jeffery Haworth, his step-daughters, Phyllis Miller and Robert of Omaha, AR, Jackie Roberts and David of Anadarko, OK, Patti Queen of Moore, OK. Grandchildren, Angela Miller and Johnny Tucker of OK, Gabrielle Stephens and John of OK, Jessica Grubb and Adam of AR, Morgan Roberts of OK, Melissa McDuffey and Derek of OK, Madison Roberts of TX, McKenna Roberts of OK, Jeremy Queen and Ashley OK, and Jerrod Queen and Melissa of OK. At last count there are 29 Great-grandchildren and 4 Great great grandchildren.
Les was trained as an electronics engineer and consequently had his own appliance repair business after he returned from Vietnam. He also worked throughout the years at various manufacturing plants including Wonderbread, Braum’s Ice Cream and Gilardi’s Pizza in Oklahoma and Superior Chrome Industries and Marshalltown Tool in Arkansas as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. His position was to keep the equipment serviced, repaired and running so that the manufacturing of whatever it was could go on without a hitch.
Les is a Vietnam War Veteran having proudly served our country in the United States Army. Until the pandemic, Les often participated in the Branson, Missouri, Veteran’s Day parades, which was the highlight of his year. His friend Randy Reddell always made sure that Les was there.
Les loved double rainbows and always got very excited when he could see one. Upon returning home the day he passed, Bobbi saw this double rainbow from their home in Omaha. A beautiful sign and comfort to Bobbi that Les was very happy to be in Heaven!!!
