Leslie Lysander Hartwell III, 92, of Lynnfield entered into eternity at Sunrise Senior Living of Lynnfield on March 12th.
Les graduated High School from Colegio Ponceno De Varones in Ponce Puerto Rico in 1948. He then attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Coast Guard on the Cutter the “Spencer.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Una Mary (Forde) Hartwell of Lynnfield. His daughters Ellen Bova of Beverly, and Mary Katherine Hartwell of Manchester, New Hampshire. His son Leslie L. Hartwell, IV and wife Cynthia of Billerica and son Edmund T. Hartwell of Byfield. His greatest giving of self was to the upbringing of his family. He was a lifelong Marksman and enjoyed traveling with his wife Una returning to Ireland on multiple occasions. He is also survived by his grandchildren Luke Hartwell, Ryan Hartwell, Michael Bova and Julia Hartwell who brought him much joy.
