Leslie “Pap” Turner 95, of Gladesville left his earthly home to join his beloved wife Mary in Heaven on Saturday May 25th, 2013 with family by his side. He was born in Gladesville on September 29th, 1917, a son of the late Ray Turner and Beatrice (Keefover) Turner. Leslie was a proud retiree of Allegheny Energy. He worked in the coke ovens and was the caretaker of the Gladesville Cemetery for several years and was also a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Gladesville and the Gladesville Community Association. He leaves behind two sons: Ralph Turner and wife Jo Ann of Gladesville and Kenneth Turner and wife Kay of Grafton; one daughter, Karen Freeland of Morgantown; one brother, Kermit Turner and wife Oneida of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Leah and Richard Stone of Pennsylvania, Jane and Bill Smith of Gladesville, and Dorothy Gibson of Baltimore; seven grandchildren: Cathy Field, Margie Wolfe, Marty Turner, Michael Turner, Martha Elliot, Laurie McDaniel, and Jamie Turner; twelve great-grandchildren: Sara Hess, Kristin Wolfe, Derick Field, Jeff Field, Jessica Field, Ashley Turner, Austin Turner, Trace Turner, Houston Elliot, Ethan Turner, Gavin Turner, and Matthew McDaniel; nine great-great-grandchildren; Olen Hess, Riley Wolfe, Kadin Field, Jadin Field, Cole Lovejoy, Nathan Field, Megan Field, Tayshia Scott and Maliyah Scott; and two sisters-in-law, Willa Jane Turner and Rosella “Dutch” Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-eight years, Mary (Bolyard) Turner; three brothers, Bernard Turner, Francis Turner and Mason Turner; and one sister, Gladys Sapp.
