Les was born May 12, 1937 on the family farm near Meridian, Idaho. He was the seventh of thirteen children born to Henry and Margret Paulin. His upbringing shaped his character, instilling in him a deep faith, integrity and a lively sense of humor, as well as a lifelong love of the land and farming.
Surviving Les are his siblings: Dorothy Murphy, Francis Bishop, Carol (John) Coombs, John (Andrea) Paulin, Jim (Gloria) Paulin and Joy Schuck; and his children: Wendy (Steve) Green, Andrew (Kathy) Paulin, Liandra (Tim) Harger and Ben Paulin; his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Les Paulin would like to thank the doctors and staff at Saint Alphonsus Hospital and the hospice unit at the VA Community Living Center in Boise for their excellent care in the final weeks of his life.
Les once described his father as “the best man I ever knew.” And now as we try to describe Les we are unable to adequately tell you of the stature of the man, his honesty and integrity, his humor and compassion, his quiet faith; we can only echo his own words: “Best man I ever knew.”
