Obituary of Leslie Anne Francis

FRANCIS, Leslie Anne (Singer) longtime resident of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully on February 26, 2021 after a lengthy battle with ALS. Age 59 years. Leslie Singer was born on June 14, 1961 in Danville, Illinois to the late Sally (Rhodes) and Richard “Dick” Singer III. Leslie was a graduate of Eisenhower High School in 1980. Immediately after graduation she joined the United States Army as a Military Police officer and served at West Point for three years. Leslie continued her military service as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserves and served in Operation Desert Storm. Leslie furthered her education at Indiana University in Indianapolis graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Leslie worked in the field of business accounting in the Indianapolis and Saginaw communities. She was a voracious reader her entire life and enjoyed writing and bird watching. Leslie was also a member of the Baha’i Faith. She was a kind and loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Leslie was loved by those who knew her and displayed tremendous independence, courage and determination during her years of illness.

Surviving are three siblings, Richard (Elizabeth) Singer IV of Saginaw, MI., Lorna (Carl) Fischer of Waterford Township, MI., and Bennett (Lissa) Singer of Rehoboth, MA; six nieces and nephews, Adam, Ashley, Kathryn, and Jordan Fischer and Robert and Bennett Singer and eight great nieces and nephews. Leslie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Andrea, in 1986.
