Freeport-LeRoy W. “Roy” Waller, 81, of Freeport, died November 24, 2006, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born April 14, 1925 in Freeport he was the son of William and Martha (Albrecht) Waller. He married Joan M. Lameyer in August of 1957 and she died May 10, 2005.He was a World War II Army veteran.Roy worked at Micro Switch for over 25 years.He and his wife, Joan, were horse trainers in the Freeport area for many years and they both had a great love for all animals. A licensed pilot he enjoyed flying, riding horses, and fishing.Surviving is one daughter, Leann (Bob) Hille of Lena; one son, Wayne Downing of Huntsville, N.C.; 3 grandchildren Joshua (Alison) Hille of Freeport, Naomi (James) Vinzant of Lena, Matt (Holly St. John) Hille of Freeport; 2 great grandchildren Tyler Vinzant, Morgan Vinzant both of Lena; one sister, Norma Schmertman of Cedarville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
