Leroy Logan was the proud son of Elmer A Logan and Effie M Lewis (Logan). The Lewis-Logan families have a long lineage with each of the families settling in Kansas as part of the Kansas exodus of the late 1800’s. Leroy was born on January 17th, 1934, in the city of Baldwin. He grew up the youngest of twelve children. There are many stories of young Leroy being a mischievous youth getting into all sorts of trouble on the farm that his parents owned at the time. He attended school in Lawrence Kansas, receiving exceptionally good marks throughout his education and was highly active in athletics and other clubs.
Preceding him in death was his loving wife of 57 years, Macie, who passed away in 2015 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Also, preceding him in death were his parents, Elmer, and Effie and eleven siblings, Ernest, Walter, Russell, Margaret, Pearl, Natalie, Robert, Sam, Arthur, Ruby, and Catherine. He leaves a loving family to cherish his memory including four children, Denise, Gretchen, Cedric (wife Kate) and Cherryl (husband Rick), adopted daughter Silvia (husband Al), eight grandchildren, Michael (wife Valerie), Anthony (wife Aysha), Jasmine, Avery, Cade, Selina, Kacey and Corrina, and five great-grandchildren, Deina, Mia, Alannah, Michael Jr. and Angelo along with a large number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
