LeRoy J Chavez Sr.
Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Leroy J Chavez Sr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 16, 2016. He was born on November 8, 1939 in Montrose, Colorado to Jose and Caroline Fresquez Chavez.
LeRoy married his sweetheart, Sandra Bird, on January 1, 1959. They spent 57 wonderful years together.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, playing his guitar and singing. He was actively involved with Jr. Posse and Spikers Rodeo Club and Little Buckaroo Rodeo. He loved all things horses. He also participated in the D.D.O Rodeo as well. Spending time with his family in the mountains was his favorite.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; children, LeRoy (Christy) Chavez, LoRen (Eileen) Chavez, Josephine (Rick) Jensen and Leisa Raftery; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
