LeRoy Glen Erickson, the son of Glen and Helen (Petersen) Erickson, was born December 25, 1936, in Omaha, Nebraska. His family moved to Eagle Grove in 1948 and LeRoy graduated from Eagle Grove High School with “Class of 1956”.
In February of 1956, LeRoy was united in marriage to Susan Haviland at Vincent, Iowa. To this union six children were born. He farmed south of Eagle Grove and continued to farm with his sons, until the time of his passing.
LeRoy passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge at the age of 83 years (celebrating his 84th with Christ). He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tracy Erickson in 2017; sons-in-law, Bill Bertran and Ronnie Ellis.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Susan Erickson of Eagle Grove; children, Monte Erickson (Melody) of Eagle Grove, Marcy Bertran of Webster City, Loree Ellis of Ankeny, Jill Erickson (David Schaefer) of Altoona and Jared Erickson (Kayla) of Collins; daughter-in-law, Peggy Erickson of Eagle Grove; many (which he truly enjoyed) grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Halverson, Kathy Sallee and Elizabeth Swanson (Paul) all of Richfield, MN and Glenda Popp (Maynard) of Oconomowoc, WI and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
