Leroy Franklin “Bill” Gray, 80, of Antietam, Md., passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 16, 1931, in Antietam Furnace, he was the son of the late Ellsworth M. and Martha L. Ebersole Gray.
He retired in 1996 after many years as a self-employed dump truck driver, and was a member of the McClellan Gun Club in Keedysville and the Conococheague Sportsman’s Club in Sharpsburg.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Crampton Gray; a daughter, Diane B. Harrell of Sharpsburg; two sons, Ronnie L. Gray of Antietam and Ernie E. Gray of Rohrersville, Md.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Terry L. Gray; and a brother, Ellis M. Gray.
