Leonarda (Stankiewicz) Zianio-Kwiatkowski, 88, of Plainville, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 17, 2015. She was born in Poland, daughter of the late Stanislaw and Jozefa (Sokol) and beloved wife of the late Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski. Before moving to Plainville to live with her daughter, Leonarda was a long time New Britain resident and communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She worked for 22 years as a machine operator at OK Industries. Leonarda loved to crochet doilies and give them as gifts to her family, but most of all, she adored babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Leonarda is survived by two sons, Henry Zianio and his wife Teresa of Newington, Joseph Zianio and his wife Barbara of New Britain; three daughters: Stella Kurys, Krystyna Zajaczkowski and her husband Jan of Plainville, and Margaret Semerdjian and her husband Aram of Kensington; seven grandchildren: Lucy, Andy, Lela, Monika, Jennifer, Anna and Richard; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers and one sister.
