Leonard A. “Tony” Garcia, 65, passed away on Oct. 15, 2022. He was born Aug. 14, 1957 in Rocky Ford, CO. to proud parents Raymond and Madeline (Moguez) Garcia who both precede him in death along with his son, Jason Garcia; siblings, Charlotte Bartosz, Rebecca Lujan, Joe Garcia Sr., Pauline Garcia and Raymond Garcia Jr. Leonard graduated from County High School in 1976 and shortly after joined the Army. Leonard was a hard worker who just enjoyed the simple things in life, such as gardening, going fishing, making ristras, canning his salsa all while listening to The Beatles. Early fall was his favorite time of the year, he loved his do-rags, jeans and T-shirts. Leonard didn’t beat around the bush he spoke his mind. He had such a great sense of humor; he was known for his stories and jokes, and he had the best personality, you were never a stranger to him. Most of all he loved his grandchildren, being with his family and all the get-togethers. Leonard is survived by his loving wife Frieda (Valdez) Garcia; children Tiffany Garcia, Jeremy Garcia, Brittany Garcia , Maria (Matias Felipe) Garcia and BC (Amanda) Noriega; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchildren; siblings Kathy Garcia, Fred Garcia, Michael (Susie) Garcia, and Toniann Garcia; in-laws Lawrence Valdez, Melinda Romero; four-legged companion “Chica” and family and friends who will miss him dearly.
