Leonard “Lenny” Rapp, age 89 of Ellicott City, MD passed away at Gilchrist Hospice Towson on Monday August 6, 2018, with his children by his side.

Born April 6, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, Lenny was the son of the late John and Lulu Rapp.  He recalled fondly his days at Polytechnic High School, where he played on the baseball team.  It was also during that time that he met his beloved wife, Mary Roberts, to whom he was married for 59 years upon her death in 2009.

Lenny and Mary were devoted to their family.  He is survived by sons Donald Rapp, Kenneth Rapp, and daughter Jane Ramsburg; grandchildren Stephanie Bichner, Shawn Rapp, Christopher Ramsburg and Lesa Ramsburg; son-in-law Todd Ramsburg; daughter-in-law Lynn Rapp; and grandson-in-law Ryan Bichner.  Beyond his immediate family, Lenny is also survived by many loving extended family members and friends.

As a Korean War Veteran, Lenny served in the United States Army from 1951-1953.

Outside of work, it was his passion to be involved in his children and grandchildren’s activities.  He was an adult Boy Scout leader, baseball coach, band parent and a regular attender at their events.

He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Ellicott City for over 50 years.

He will be missed by all that knew him.
