On May 30, 2006, Leonard R. Holeves passed on. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Gloria Holeves; his dear daughters, Candace Taylor and Marylou Holeves; his dear sons, Glenn and Thomas Holeves; and one grandchild. Leonard was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy and Robert Holeves. Leonard was born in Garfield, New Jersey. He resided in Maryland for the past 48 years. He studied for 2 years at Seton Hall College in New Jersey. Leonard was a member of the US Air Force during World War II.
He was a flight officer who piloted both the P-51 Mustang and the P-40 Flying Tiger fighter planes. He graduated from the US Army Cadets in 1944 at Craig Field in Selma, Alabama. Leonard was a Branch Manager for the Snelling & Snelling Employment Agency. He retired in 1974 in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Leonard enjoyed many hobbies which included fishing, reading history (especially World War II history) and sports. He was a fan of the NY Yankees, the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Colts. Leonard coached Little League Baseball in Harundale. He was a good man and will be missed by both his family and his friends.
