Leonard “Lee” W. Palser, 97, of Holiday City South, Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Monday, July 10, 2018 at home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Valley Stream, NY and Hillsborough, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. 33 years ago. Lee was a US Army Air Corps WWII Veteran, attaining the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to 746th Bomber Squadron, 456th Group and B24J Aircraft.
His aircraft was shot down on August 28, 1944 over Northern Italy and he was classified as a Prisoner of War while evading the enemy, living in caves for ten months. He was a Graphic Artist and Illustrator, working in Advertising for Brown & Bigelow in New York City for many years. Lee was a member of the Toms River Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years Gloria (Brant), his three children John Palser and his wife Diane of Valley Stream, NY, Karen Brown and her husband Larry of Susquehanna, PA, Jeff Palser of Sellersville, PA, his brother Arthur “Art” Palser of Delaware, seven grandchildren (Scott, Terri, Jesse, Helene, Spring, Jennifer, Ryan) and eight great grandchildren (Mackenzie, Paige, Cameron, Addison, Magnus, Remy, Grayson, Asher).
