Leonard Dean Flatt, 67
Cherished husband, father, grandfather and brother, Leonard Dean Flatt, 67, of Osburn, Idaho, peacefully passed away on June 12, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society Silver Wood Village in Silverton, Idaho. He was born on January 3, 1951 in Kellogg, Idaho; he was the son of Clifford and Vyrle (Callihan) Flatt.
Leonard was born and raised in Kellogg where he graduated from the Kellogg High School. He moved to a few different places throughout his life, but he always returned home to Kellogg.
Leonard spent a lifetime working in the mining industry. He last worked for Hecla Mining Company as a Mine Assayer, but his profession took him to a variety of places outside of the Silver Valley. Most notably, he worked in Juneau, Alaska where he married his beautiful wife, Evelyn Smith, with a glacier as their background.
Leonard enjoyed the outdoors. He liked hunting for deer and elk all over the valley, streamline fishing in North Fork, and woodworking. He built a wooden chest for his wife that she holds near and dear to her heart.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Evelyn Flatt of Osburn, Idaho; his 5 children, Cory (Samantha) Flatt of Osburn, Idaho, Chad (Tessa) Flatt of Post Falls, Idaho, Jason (Alicia) Flatt of Seattle, Wa, Tina (Andy) Douglas of Michigan, and Steven (Cassie) Tippen of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; 3 silbings, Alma Bell, Loraine Navis, and Kenny Flatt; his 10 wonderful grandchildren: Luna, Orin, Nolan, Matthew, Cylas, Archer, Lyn, Naomi, Kaylee, and Joseph; as well as 8 nieces and 14 nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by; his parents, Clifford and Vyrle; his brother, David Flatt; and his two sisters, Dorothy Simpson and Donna Auer.
