Leona M. Curry, 95, of rural Petersburg, IL and formerly of rural Chandlerville, IL died February 24, 2014 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in rural Petersburg.
She was born July 31, 1918 in Mason County, the daughter of Clay and Ollie McDaniel Shoemaker. She married Flavel “Dutch” Curry on September 1, 1936 in Mason County and he preceded her in death on November 10, 1979.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and her caretaker, Mary Marr of Chandlerville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Curry; two brothers, Leo and Arlan Shoemaker; and a sister, Alberta Nall.
Mrs. Curry was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
