Leon Peter Keller, 76, was a 40 year resident of Ellicott City, MD, loving and devoted Husband, Father, Uncle, and Grandfather, passed into the hands of God surrounded by his family early morning on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 following an accelerated illness with pancreatic cancer.

Leon was born June 29, 1940, in Blooming Grove, New York. He was the son of Margaret and Michael Keller, the youngest of seven children. He left the family home and auto business to attend St. Vincent’s College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree, he moved to Washington D.C, where he joined an accounting firm and met the love of his life – Ms. Lucy Montiel – holding her dear for fifty-two years.

They were married in June 1965, had their first daughter Nena, in their Baltimore apartment, and soon after moved to Maryland and had their second daughter, Carina. Eventually Leon opened his own accounting office; Leon P Keller, CPA; and also worked for many years as a medical office manager for several practices, serving as a past President of the MGMA (Medical Group Management Association).

During his lifetime, Leon was a devoted parishioner of St Paul’s Church in old town Ellicott City, and the Church of Resurrection, and served as Cantor, Lecturer, and Eucharistic Minister in several local Catholic churches as needed. He was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Leon leaves behind a loving family; his devoted wife Lucy, daughters: Nena Keller and Carina Clark, sons in law: Robert Clark, William Switzer and Jason Enwright, grandsons: Kyle Enwright, Tyler Enwright and Miles Clark, his sisters: Angela Berliner and Julie Malanowski and one brother: Vincent Keller, many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends – we call “family”.

Be not moved by a sudden thing such as this
It is only the flesh that you will miss
Don’t let your tears stand in the way
For this is a beautiful and glorious day
Behold the glory of God and be glad
No need to drop your head and be sad
I have submitted to Gods eternal plan
And am now resting in his loving hands.
