Leon L. Lilly, 74, of Fort Pierce, Florida, formerly of West Deptford, NJ, passed away on March 21, 2021.
Leon was born in Woodbury, NJ to the late Samuel and Marie (Ignatius) Lilly. He remained in New Jersey most of his life, moving to Florida almost 8 years ago. Leon proudly served in the United States Army in Germany. Prior to retirement, he worked as a Pipefitter and was a 51-year life member of UA Local 322 based in Winslow, NJ.
He served 17 years on the Executive Board as well as a delegate to many pipe trade conventions. In his spare time, Leon enjoyed fishing and his wonderful fishing buddies at Mill Creek Marina, boating, and rod building. In addition, he was an American Flyer train enthusiast. Leon loved life, his family, and his friends.
Leon was the beloved husband of Linda B. Lilly (Vurgason); loving father of Lee Lilly and Tracy Nolan (Mark); adored grandfather of Maxx and Mia Lilly and Leah and Sarah Nolan. He was preceded in death by his five siblings: Marie Lunn, Samuel Lilly, Ruth Ann Muhlbauer, Florence Redmond, and Julia Price.
