Troy Leon C. ‘Mitch’ Mitchell, 96, of State Street, died Tuesday at Sunrise Assisted Living Plainview, NY after a brief illness.
Born in Johnstown, PA he was son of the late Leon and Anna Yost Mitchell and husband of the late Lillian E. Richardson Mitchell. He had resided in Troy since 1930.
Mr. Mitchell was a self- employed general contractor and superintendent of the Caldwell Apartments in Troy for many years, retiring 6 years ago.
He was a member of the Germania Hall Association, Evergreen Country Club and the Poestenkill Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters Marilyn M. Holtham and husband Thomas of Archdale, NC and Marcia L. Olsen of Seaford, LI; six grandchildren Joseph Rolland, Catherine Order, Deborah Smith, Nancy Graffeo, Seana Zimmer and Christopher Olsen; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Versay Mitchell and Leona Jensen and a brother Paul Mitchell.
