Leoma Hanshew Bowyer, 100, Anderson, died August 28, 2003 at residence after a brief illness. She was born July 30, 1903 in Anderson, Indiana, and spent her entire life in this community. She retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors, Plant 6 in 1968 after 22 years of service. She was a 78 year member of East Lynn Christian Church where she had taught Sunday School for children and adults for many, many years. She was very involved in the Women’s Fellowship at the church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed gardening and sharing her produce with family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie ”Marge” Swanson of Anderson and Phyllis & husband Charles Divens of New Port Richey, Florida and Wolcottville; sister, Blanche Somers of Kokomo; nine grandchildren, sveral great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend it’s deepest gratitude to Community Visiting Nurses Association. She was preceded by her husband whom she married in 1920, Harry Bowyer in July 1967; children, Wayne Bowyer and Wilma Herring; siblings, Goldie Romine, Henry Hanshew, Bennie Hanshew, Edna Boren, Eldora Moreland and Howard Hanshew.
