She worked for Eastern Airlines both in their offices and as a flight attendant until 1961. On February 22, 1961, Lee married Harry Robert Anderson. After settling in Newnan, Georgia in 1966, she became actively involved in the community. She participated in tutoring at her children’s school along with her mother-in-law Dorothy Bullard. Lee was actively involved in Central Baptist Church both by singing in the choir and Sunday school. During this time, in 1978, she partnered in creating the Fellowship of Christian Women. In 1983, Lee and Harry became founding members of Grace Community Fellowship church. It was here that Lee, along with other founding members, created the Women of Grace. As a part of her ministry to women, Lee and Carol Rexroad began the Women’s Crisis Center of Newnan (now Coweta Pregnancy Services). For many years, she was an active board member and Treasurer. As a devoted Christian, Lee wrote and illustrated “The Empty Spot,” and this has been an amazing tool in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
