Leo James Wanek, 87, of Thornton, CO, died peacefully on July 30, 2010. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946 as an Electronic Technician. Leo later earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Geology from the University of Colorado. He went on to work for Mobil Oil as a geologist for thirty years. He was a long-term resident of Littleton, CO from 1973 to 2006. Leo is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia, his daughter Marcia, sons Jim, Mike and Dave, and seven wonderful grandchildren.
