Leo J. “Chic” Lawrence, of Burlington Township, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Marcella Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Burlington Township. at the age of 83. Mr. Lawrence was born in Camden and was a long time Burlington resident. He had worked as a painter for the State of New Jersey for many years, retiring in 1990.
He was a US Navy veteran of World War Two where he served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Chic was a dedicated Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Eagles fan. Husband of the late Jean (nee Wilson), he is survived by his children and their spouses, Robert and Monica Lawrence, of Columbus, Cheryl and Jeff Harris, of Evergreen, CO, Thomas Lawrence, of Burlington City, and Ted Lawrence and Richard and Linda Lawrence, all of Burlington Township, his 6 grandchildren, Jason Lawrence, Jackie and Brittany Harris, Ricky and Rachel Lawrence and Daniel Lawrence, his great grandson, Jason C. Lawrence, and his brother, Jack Lawrence, of Holly Hill, FL.
