Leo Henry Wilking, 89, of Bridgeport passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at United Hospital Center with his family by his side. He was born August 28, 1926 in Reading, OH; son of the late Leo Frank and Philamenia Ruebusch Wilking. Leo is survived by two daughters, Janie L. Keeley and husband James, Clarksburg, Melinda Marra and husband Mario, Bridgeport; three grandchildren, James Christopher Keeley, Jr. and wife, Marilyn, Potomac, MD; Susanne Christine Keeley Davison and husband Dave, Valley Lee, MD, Thomas Patrick Keeley and wife Hilary, Potomac, MD; eight great grandchildren, James Christopher Keeley, III, Marilyn Lauren Keeley, Sean Joseph Keeley, Lillian Elise Keeley, Natalie Susanne Keeley, Ashley Renee Davison, Abigail Marie Davison, Alyssa Anne Davison; and one sister, Rosie Hertel, Reading, OH.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Carroll Wilking, seven siblings, Fran Jung, Vera Suttman, Thelma Wilking, Mary O’Brien, Ruth Jones, Wilma Goldschmidt, and Joe Wilking.
He served his country honorably during World War II in the United States Navy. Leo then managed the family business, Carroll Lumber Company in Bridgeport. He was a member of Bridgeport Rotary Club. He was recognized for his years of support in raising funds for Notre Dame High School, the Sisters of St Joseph, and multiple community fund raisers. He enjoyed his daily routine which included his 4PM social at Tudors with his good friends. He will always be known as a loving husband, father and grandfather. We will miss him dearly.
