Leo Glenn Armentrout, 77, of Westminster, died peacefully Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born August 5, 1935 in Glady, WV, he was the son of the late Floyd Edward and Ocie Kerens Armentrout. He was the husband of the late Pauline Mae Dircks Armentrout, to whom he was married for 50 years.
Leo was raised in Elkins, WV and Cumberland, MD where he graduated from Allegany High School. He was a machinist for the Koppers Company in Hanover, MD for 42 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve.
Surviving are daughters, Linda Dreer and husband Rich of Westminster, Debbie Herrera and husband Pete of Texas, Nancy Walzl and husband Gene of Smithsburg, Terri Spitzler and husband Doug of Linthicum Heights; son, Joe Armentrout and wife Charlotte of Hampstead; brother, Sterl “Sonny” Armentrout and wife Joan of Chester, VA, twin brother, Leon Armentrout and wife Joyce of Longwood, FL, and brother, Dorrin “Butch” Armentrout and wife Patty of Ridgeley, WV; cherished sisters-in-law, Margaret Bishop and Barbara Buckley, both of Cumberland, and Dorothy Machemer and husband Walt of Westminster; grandchildren, Bradley Nolan and wife Julie of Reisterstown, Amanda Nolan of Hampstead, Sean and Austin Herrera, Ben Walzl, Cindy Armentrout, Ray Tignor, and Tiffany Spitzler; great-grandchildren, Trenton Gerber, Dylan Pinsky, and Jason Patterson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Richard Armentrout and sister-in-law, Linda Armentrout.
