Leo Barker, age 80, of Green Forest, AR passed away May 17, 2010. He was born on March 12, 1930 in Balch, AR to the late Harry James Barker and Mary Francis Foster Barker. On March 22, 1951 he was united in marriage to Ola Dixon and to this union 7 children were born. Leo and his family moved to Iowa for a number of years where he worked for a John Deer factory before becoming disabled. They returned to AR and settled in Carroll County over 20 years ago. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, cutting wood and the great outdoors . He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Ola Barker, of the home, 6 daughters, Mary Ann Shaffer and husband Gene, of Alpena, Gail Howard and husband Raymond, of Rogers, Brenda Bass and husband Glen of Valley Springs, Gwenda Fryar and husband Sheldon, of Green Forest, Tereasia Marshall and husband Steve of Green Forest, Pam Barker, of Green Forest, 1 son Leo Barker JR and wife Laurie Jean, of Green Forest, brother, Henry Barker, of McCrory, AR, sisters, Flosie Yarbrough, of Hickory Ridge, AR, Nora Bratcher, of Fisher, AR, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, Leo is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
