God called home Lenora Leona (Lueck) Fletcher of Wisconsin Rapids, aged 97, on Wednesday August 3, 2022. She lived for over 73 years in a home that her and her husband, Elwin Clair Fletcher, built, spending only 72 hours at Riverview Hospital where she died peacefully of old age.

Lenora was born October 9, 1924 to Arthur and Amanda (Heller) Lueck. Raised on a farm during the depression in Buena Vista Township in Portage County, she was the only member of her class at Sunnyside Schoolhouse to go on to graduate from high school. A 1942 graduate of Steven’s Point High School, she fulfilled her dream of walking through the doors of Central State Teacher’s College, graduating from there and furthering her education through the years at UW-Steven’s Point, UW-Milwaukee and Cardinal Stritch University.  She married the love of her life, Elwin Clair Fletcher on June 22,1946. Together, they had one son, Allen Fletcher.  Lenora taught school for 47 years at the Bluff, Clover, Oak Park, Pearl, and Fabisiak one room schoolhouses; then Grant Elementary School in Kellner and the last three decades at Howe Elementary School in Wisconsin Rapids.  Lenora was adored by her students throughout her career, many kept in contact with her throughout her life. In her long and active retirement, she traveled the world, continued an active membership at Immanuel Lutheran Church, remained dedicated to her social groups and committees and was a tireless volunteer and world class Grandma. Lenora was loved by anyone who came in contact with her, for she was a very patient, thoughtful and considerate person. She spent her whole life serving and caring for others. Lenora was a strong, independent, educated woman who lived a beautiful life.

Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, her five brothers and their wives, Harvey Lueck, Elmer and Caroline Lueck, Lloyd and Ester Lueck, Gilmore and Viola Lueck, Ronnie and Eleanor (first wife) and Glennie (second wife) Lueck, Harold and Florence (first wife) and Ruth (second wife) her husband, Elwin. When Elwin passed in January of 1969, she never stopped loving him, and loved him until the day she died. Loved ones that will miss Lenora are many including her son, Allen, daughter-in-law Linda Fletcher, grandchildren Andrew Fletcher and his wife Katie Musolff, Emalie Fletcher, Amanda (Fletcher) De Los Santos and her husband Ray De Los Santos, and her two great-grandchildren, Maya and Mason De Los Santos.  Lenora was very devoted to her family as a daughter, mother, wife, grandma and great-grandma. She will be missed by many relatives, friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Riverview Hospital for the exceptional care that she received, especially Dani, Amber, Sam, JJ, Brittney and Scott.
