Mrs. Lennie Elizabeth Wallace Tipton Mrs. Lennie Elizabeth Wallace Tipton passed away January 13, 2014 at the age of 97 at Wesley Woods of Newnan where she had lived for over 12 years. She was born in Charleston, Mississippi April 16, 1916 to Thomas Elmo and Lennie Wallace. She graduated from college with a degree in English and taught school for several years before marrying Henry Tipton, a young Army Lieutenant. They endured World War II together and Elizabeth and Henry raised four children as they moved with the Army to post World War II Japan, Korea, to various home assignments, and Alaska before it became a state. They were married for 62 years. Elizabeth had the unique musical gift of being able to play anything on the piano without music. If she knew the tune she could play it in any key. She shared this gift through the years with friends and family, and especially with her Wesley Woods family. Elizabeth’s special interests were her family, her music and her Lord. She was a keen thinker and writer, had a loving heart, she was wise, and she was the foundation of her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Henry Tipton, and she is survived by her four children Elizabeth Ann Tipton, Sarah Tipton LaMance, Henry and Ann Tipton and Bill and Barbara Tipton. She also leaves grandchildren Duncan and Heather Tipton, Jake and Jill Tipton, Chris, Preston and Elizabeth LaMance, and great grandchildren John, Jake and Stella Mae Tipton.
