Lennart Carol Koneczny, age 78, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Front Royal, VA. He was born on March 10, 1937 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Edmund and Ester (Backman) Koneczny. Mr. Koneczny retired from Fairfax County as a Zoning Inspector. He enjoyed boating, tennis, water skiing, snow skiing and flying model airplanes; but his true love was his old cars especially his El Camino. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Betty Koneczny of Haymarket, VA; three children: Lennart Kurt Koneczny of Falls Church, VA, Deborah Harrison and husband Billy of Sterling, VA and Dena Garcia and husband Jose of Purcellville, VA; three brothers: Conrad Koneczny and wife Robin of Winchester, VA, Andre Koneczny and wife Lois of Chantilly, VA and Paul Koneczny and wife Lori of Overland Park, KS; six grandchildren: Nicholas Harrison, Jennifer Lawrence, Jake Koneczny, Josh Koneczny, Lauren Garcia and Andrew Garcia; one great grandchild: Hayley Harrison. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
