    Mr. Oldham was born October 2, 1936 in Waterbury son of the late Hugh L. and Signe (Carlsson) Oldham.

    An accomplished marksman, he had been a competition pistol shooter and had competed at many competitions, but especially enjoyed the national competitions in Camp Perry, Ohio. He was a member of the NRA, the former Wigwam Gun Club and the Bell City Gun Club.

    For many years he had been involved in the Boy Scouts with Troop 53 and shared his joy for the outdoors and winter camping with the scouts. He had helped two scouts attain their Eagle Scout ranking. His love of outdoors included hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. He was proud of the fact he had had climbed Mt. Katahdin in Maine.

    He started his career with the A.W. Hayden Company and then went onto a long career with Airpax in Cheshire from 1962 until his retirement in 1995. He had worked as a toolmaker in the model room of research and development. He enjoyed his retirement with his family and especially with his grandchildren because with them he could a like a kid again and enjoyed working with models and model trains.
