Lena “Norene” Webb Weaver passed away at home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the age of 98. She was born in the village of Lasca, Alabama, near Thomasville, on July 7, 1915, the daughter of Thomas Lafayette Webb and Sarah Elizabeth Gibson Webb. She lived a humble life, had a good seense of humor, and was kind, gentle, and helpful to many during her life; she will be greatly missed. Norene deeply loved her large and extended family, honored God, and was esepecially fond of children, animals, reading, movies, music, travel, crossword puzzles, and the old CBS soap operas. After Lasca, she lived principally in Vicksburg and Gautier, MS, for many years in Mobile, and since 2011 in Albuquerque. Norene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Benjamin Weaver, grandson James ‘Barney’ Koestler, great grandson Zachary Koestler, and siblings Annie Mae Dennis, Lillie Myrl Petty, Joseph Francis Webb, Benjamin Jackson Webb, and Preston Webb. She is survived by daughter Carolyn Ann Koestler of Vicksburg; son Keith Wayne Weaver, of Albuquerque; four grandsons; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
