Lena E. Callahan, age 95, of Salem, died at 3:58 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at her home. She was born August 6, 1918 in Lisbon, Ohio, a daughter of the late Tony and Mary (Vechione) Battalio. Lena had worked at the Salem Community Hospital first as a cafeteria worker before becoming a ward secretary. She had previously worked in the cafeteria in both the junior and senior high schools. She was a very active long time member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was former president of the Prospect School PTA.
