Lembert W. “Lem” Nichols, age 81 of Auburn died Monday, September 8, 2014 at his home.
The son of the late William and Martha (Watson) Nichols was born April 30, 1933 in Midland where he was raised and educated.
Lem served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On October 7, 1961 he married Gladys Buzzell in Midland. Lem worked for the Dow Chemical Company for 30 years, retiring in 1989 as a head operator. He was a member of the 50+ Center at the Midland Community Center, enjoyed hunting, farming, casino trips, playing billiards and loved to go Polka dancing!
Lem is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Gladys; son William (Cynthia) Nichols of Auburn; daughter Marilyn (Greg) Loubert of Greenwood, Nebraska; grandchildren Chantelle, Natasha and Matthew Nichols, Joshua Behmlander and Lara Hollmann. He is also survived by his sisters in law Ruth Nichols, Ruth Brubaker, Shirley (Ken) Corlew, Judy Hayward, Nancy Buzzell; brother in law Ron (Kenna) Buzzell; special dear friends Susan and June Fournier; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers Ron, Thomas and Robert Nichols; sisters, Florence and Ilene Nichols, Reva Tefteller and Marian Callow.
