Leland S. Lawver, 85, of Rock City died Friday February 13, 2009 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born June 15, 1923 at Rock City he was the son of Charles and Ruth (Zimmerman) Lawver.
He and Wilma L. Meinert were married January 1, 1946 at Davis, she preceded him in death January 29, 2009.
Leland farmed in the Davis area for many years always using Allis Chalmers. He served on the Dakota School board for many years.
Leland served on the church council and many other positions within the church at St. Paul Church of Epleyanna, rural Davis.
He is survived by two daughters; Judith (Jeffrey) Mitchell, of Nashville, TN, Janice (Joe) Boyer of Davis; six grandchildren April (Mike) Zettle of Rock City, Adam (Christina) Boyer of Davis, Jessie (T.J.) Zambrovitz of Sycamore, Trisha Brubaker of Easton, PA, Melissa Brubaker of Long Island, NY, Alison (Eddie) Arauco of Indianapolis, IN; 11 great grandchildren Maycee, Riley, Mary, Audrey, Cassie, Haley, Emily, Brady, Edmond, Sophie, Ava and sister-in-law Evadine Lawver of Freeport.
He is preceded in death by his wife, one sister Lozetta Fiene, two brothers Lawrence and Wesley Lawver, two sisters-in-law Frieda Kubly, Edna Lawver and two brothers-in-law Nathan Kubly and Earl Fiene.
