Leland Gail Wentz, Sr., 94, of Bridgeport, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at Ruby Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born June 14, 1916 in Anmoore, the son of the late Clarence Wentz and Lucy Pearl Filkins Wentz. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine L. Pettit Wentz. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son; Leland G. Wentz II and one daughter; Patricia L. Wentz. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Clarence Wentz, Jr., Eugene Wentz and Robert Wentz and one sister; Barbara Patricia Wentz. Mr. Wentz graduated Bridgeport High School in 1936 where he played football. He then went on to attend Salem College and went to work for PPG Glass Industries where he worked for 35 years. Mr. Wentz enjoyed painting signs, painting with oils, home construction and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
