Leland Everett McDaniel-64years of Nampa Idaho passed peacefully at home on February 9th, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer with his wife Debbie by his side. May his strength and courage be a reminder to all of us, to live each and every day to the fullest.
Leland was born November 5th, 1957, in Nampa Idaho, to Georgia and James McDaniel. He was the middle child joining his older brother and sister Debbie, and later a little sister Lori. Georgia later remarried Lloyd Caudill, adding to their growing family, Theresa, Terry, Linda, Arthur, and Vanita. His father James also remarried adding siblings David, Travis, Margo and Stacy. Leland married Donna Cleveland on August 5th, 1974. They were married for nineteen yrs. Leland and Donna resided in Nampa where they raised two sons, Don and Brian McDaniel. On June 21,2006 Leland married his current wife, Debbie Troughton. Leland’s marriage to Debbie added a stepdaughter, Jessica, granddaughter Hannah, and two twin grandsons Cody and Cameron. At a young age Leland worked various jobs to support his family before settling into a career as a Cable and Fiber optics installer and supervisor. He was currently employed by J.A.Miller where he remained until becoming ill. Leland was also a member of the National Guard for nine years, during his time with the Guard he was privileged to do a short tour in Germany. Leland had a great love for the outdoors and loved to go hunting and fishing with his sons, nephews and friends. Nothing put a smile on his face like standing on the riverbank and landing the big one! He also enjoyed panning for gold and mining for some of Idaho’s beautiful gems, he was very proud of some of his star garnets that he has worked down. Some of his fondest memories were made in the beautiful mountains and rivers of Idaho. Leland was a kid at heart and enjoyed flying radio-controlled planes and helicopters with his sons. He also loved squirrels; he would go every Sunday with Debbie to the park to feed them. Leland was very fond of his nieces and nephews and always had a pocket full of suckers to greet them with. Leland is survived by: Debbie McDaniel(wife) Georgia Caudill (mother), Terry Caudill, James McDaniel, Arthur Caudill, David and Travis McDaniel (brothers and their spouses). Debbie Lawlis, Lori Lewis, Vanita Caudill (sisters & spouses), Don & Brian McDaniel (sons & spouses) Jessica (daughter)& spouse, Seth, Zackery, Jasmin, Hannah, Cody & Cameron (grandchildren), Jaxtenn, Jordenn (great grandchildren), and numerous nieces and nephews, Leland is proceeded in death by James McDaniel (father), Loyd Caudill (stepfather), Theresa Ballard, Linda Muth, & Margo McDaniel (sisters), George Lawlis (brother in law), Casey Duncan (nephew) and Don Cleveland (father in law).
