Lela Mae Livingston-Brandon was born on May 10, 1942 in Sumner, Mississippi to the late George Price Sr. and Elmer (Puddin) Green Price.
Mae attended Elementary School #83 and she graduated from George Washington High School.
Mae was employed over the years at General Hospital, RCA, Central State Hospital, Larue Carter, CICOA and the Marion County Election Board.
In 1964 Mae United in Matrimony to Oscar C. Livingston and from this union 2 children were born, Theresa Livingston and Shelia Livingston. In 2016 she United in Matrimony to William “Harvey” Brandon, Sr. who preceded her in death.
Mae dedicated her life to Christ at an early age.
She was a dedicated member of the Women of West Indianapolis, active member and diligent worker of the Seasoned Hearts and the Golden Girls.
After the passing of her mother (Puddin Price), Mae became the family Matriarch. She loved bringing the family together for holiday’s, birthdays, cook outs or for no reason at all. She just loved being with her family. She held the knowledge of our family’s history and loved pulling out old photos. Our mom wore many hats for us, she was Mom to all of me and my sister’s friends. Then she was Granny to ALL of Tanei’s friends. Our mom has been referred to as a Sister and Aunt by many of her cousins. Her love for traveling would often cause her to hit the road to Springfield or Memphis to see her sister, nieces and nephews.
Mae even had a passion for sports, she would watch the Pacer’s and Colts play and would yell at the TV as thou they could hear her. Josh can probably relate since she became one of his biggest cheerleaders at his basketball games. But Friday nights was her night with the girls and you know who you are. The game was Bid Whiz.
Lela Mae Livingston-Brandon departed this life on Friday, October 9, 2020 at the age of 78 years young. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer (Puddin) and George Price, Sr., 2 brothers George Price, Jr and Roy Gaters and her husband William “Harvey” Brandon, Sr.
Mae leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, Theresa Livingston (Gerald), Shelia Livingston, Augusta Batmaz, Maria Hayes (Jeff), William H. Brandon, Jr .
