Ms. Lela Mae Carrell, age 94, of Opelika, AL passed away on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018 at her residence. She was born in North Alabama on December 20th, 1923 to the late James E. Hill and Annie Mae Hill.
Ms. Carrell is survived by her three children, Diane (Jackie) Earle, Johnny (Linda) Carrell, and Marty (Sharon) Carrell; her thirty-one grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her brother, Raburn Hill; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three of her daughters, Barbara Settle, Pat Jones, and Peggy Jones; and seven brothers.
Mrs. Carrell was lovingly referred to as “Granny” by her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and was always there for her family in every way. She was of the Pentecostal faith and loved the Lord.
