Lela was active with the Nifty Over Fifty of South Chicago Heights, Chicago Heights Tuesday Seniors, Golden Echos, South Chicago Heights Seniors, Steger Over Fifty, and she was the Sunshine Gal for 20 years of the Recycle Teenagers organization, and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
